Abstract:A novel spirobifluorene diamine monomer, 2,2 0 -diamino-7-tert-butyl-9,9 0 -spirobifluorene, was obtained starting from the readily available reagent 4,4 0 -di-tert-butylbiphenyl. The key step of the synthesis is the introduction of a nitro group into the 2-position of the spirobifluorene through the loss of tert-butyl at the 2-position.
Key step of the synthesis of the novel spirobifluorene diamine monomer (VI) is the introduction of a nitro group into the 2‐position of the spirobifluorene (IV) through the loss of tert‐butyl group at the 2‐position.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
