Abstract

Synthesis of 2'-(Substituted)benzylidene Hydrazino-5-arylamino-1,3,4-thiadiazoles and Their Antimicrobial Activity. -1,3,4-Thiadiazole derivatives of type (VI) (13 examples) are prepared and tested for their antimicrobial activity. Some of the compounds are highly active against E. coli [cf. (VIa) and (VIb)] and B. subtilis [cf. (VIa)]. Bromination of (VI) affords the dibromo derivatives (VII). -(BURGHATE, M. K.; GANDHE, S.
