The efficiency of new water soluble composite namely, poly (vinyl alcohol-o-methoxy aniline) PVAMOA has been studied for corrosion inhibition of mild steel in 1 M hydrochloric acid (HCl). Corrosion inhibition was investigated using weight loss, potentiodynamic polarization and electrochemical impedance studies. The kinetic and thermodynamic parameters for mild steel corrosion and inhibitor adsorption respectively, were determined and discussed. The adsorption of PVAMOA on the mild steel surface obeyed Langmuir followed by El-Awady adsorption isotherm. The adsorption of the composite was established by scanning electron microscope (SEM).
