Synthesis of Cu‐doped MOF‐235 for the Degradation of Methylene Blue under Visible Light Irradiation

Abstract: Cu-doped MOF-235 particles with various Cu concentrations were successfully prepared using the solvothermal method and investigated for the degradation of methylene blue (MB) under visible light irradiation. The structural properties of the MOF-235 samples were affected by the Cu concentrations. The particle size, surface area, and pore volume of the sample were decreased gradually with increasing of Cu amount. The photocatalytic degradation of MB indicated that Cu-doped MOF-235 outperformed pure MOF-235 and c… Show more

“…Metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) are porous crystalline materials, which is comprised of metal ions and organic linkers connected by coordination bonds. Because of the beneficial properties, MOF materials have attracted in the utilization of various applications, such as gas storage and separation, 10 light harvesting, 11 energy storage systems, 12 dye adsorption 13 and catalysis, 14 and so on. Over the past few decades, MOFs have been extensively studied as solid‐state proton conducting materials (SSPCs) for PEMFCs 15 .…”

“…Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are promising adsorbents for I 2 capture because of their large surface areas and easy structural tunability. [6][7][8][9][10][11] Various MOFs such as HKUST-1, 12 ZIF-8, [13][14][15][16] UiO-66 series, 17 MIL series, 18 MFM-300 series, 19 Tb-MOF, 20 and SBMOF 21 have been evaluated for I 2 capture. To design an ideal MOF sorbent, the interactions of the adsorbed I 2 molecules with the building blocks of MOFs must be enhanced.…”

“…9 Among the possible methods, the photocatalytic technique is fairly effective because of its simple process and green technology. [10][11][12][13][14] Additionally, this method has been rapidly used in various applications, such as CO 2 reduction, water splitting, etc. Consequently, researchers have been studying and looking for new adequate materials that can be used to make better adsorbents or photocatalysts to get rid of pollutants.…”
