Synthesis of Cysteine Modified MoS2 Nanocomposite: A Biocompatible Electrochemical Sensor Material and its Application to the Determination of Antidiabetic Dapagliflozin

Abstract: Herein, for the first time, a new generation cysteine modified MoS2 (Cys@MoS2) based electrochemical sensor was reported. The electrochemical behaviour of dapagliflozin (DAP) was investigated through differential pulse voltammetry (DPV) on the developed sensor (Cys@MoS2/GCE). The transmission electron microscopy (TEM), fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), x‐ray diffraction spectroscopy (XRD) and x‐ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) methods were performed for structural and morphological characteri… Show more

“…MoS 2 is one such TMD that has riveted researchers over the past two decades due to its superior specific surface area, better porosity, and electronic conductivity as it allows shifting from a multi-layered network of indirect bandgap 1.29 eV to a single-layered network of direct bandgap 1.9 eV making it a principal choice amongst scientist for sensitive and rapid sensing applications. [27][28][29][30] However, the lack of sufficient active sites presents a major limitation to the use of pristine MoS 2 . 31,32 Combining it with noble metal nanoparticles (MNPs) becomes a suitable choice to address this issue.…”
