Abstract:Cyclopent‐2‐enone bearing natural products possess anti‐inflammatory, cytotoxic, antiproliferative, and antimicrobial activities attributed to the presence of a Michael acceptor enone group acting as a bait for protein targets. To explore the biological activity of synthetic small molecules bearing the cyclopent‐2‐enone moiety, a collection of 4‐substituted cyclopent‐2‐enones (3 a–3 i) was prepared synthetically using Lewis acid‐catalyzed Mukaiyama‐Michael reaction (MMR) in modest to high yields. These derivat… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
