Abstract: Carbamoylphosphonates (CPOs) have recently been identified as extracellular in vivo active inhibitors of the cancer and metastasis‐promoting extracellular enzymes, carbonic anhydrases (CAs) IX and XII, and matrix metalloproteinase‐2 (MMP‐2).
