Synthesis of high-linearity array structures

Abstract: The problem of synthesis of array structures capable of providing a highly linear voltage response has been studied in detail. Two possible approaches have been suggested. The first one supposes synthesis of the series array by means of interferometer cells with sinusoidal responses. The second approach supposes synthesis of highly linear differential array structures by means of interferometer cells with |sin(x)|-like voltage responses at bias current I b = I c. When the interferometer cells are replaced by p… Show more

“…4 shows a parallel connection of serial bi-SQUID SQIF arrays arranged in a multi-spoke wheel fashion targeting antenna applications. Several versions with different number of spokes (4,8,16,32) were implemented. The objective of these designs is to investigate shape dependences and effects of mutual coupling between different serial arrays.…”

“…This additional inductance removes the need for feedback loop, which enforced a bandwidth restriction on the SQUID operation. Thus, the effective bandwidth of the SQUID can have significant improvement by using this bi‐SQUID architecture . Serial arrays of such bi‐SQUID structure can be designed to improve the device characteristics with emphasis on its dynamic range …”
