Abstract:Toluene and xylene are carcinogenic and toxic compounds, and their presence in excessive amounts in the environment has an adverse impact on water quality, thus affecting public health. In this study, magnetite coated oleic acid, (MNP-OA) nanocomposite was synthesized, characterized and applied as an effective nano-adsorbent for the efficient removal of toluene and xylene from aqueous solutions. Magnetite nanoparticles were coated with oleic acid via the microwave method and characterized using BET surface are… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
