Synthesis of mesitylene-based polyamine dendrimer for functionalisation of single-walled carbon nanotubes

Abstract: We have synthesised first generation (G1) of mesitylene-based polyamine dendrimer by following the convergent approach. The polyamine dendrimer was characterised by the usual spectroscopic techniques including liquid chromatography coupled with mass spectrometry. To develop polycationic functionalised carbon nanotubes (f-CNTs) as advanced systems for the delivery of nucleic acid, we attached G1 polyamine dendrimer onto the surface of single-walled CNTs (SWCNTs). The f-SWCNTs were characterised by thermogravime… Show more

“…Moreover, sulfonimide links are environmentally safe. In this article, 1 st - and 2 nd - generation sulfonimide-based dendrimers L1 and L2, respectively, as well as the easily accessible mesitylene-dendrimer L3 [ 18 ], are prepared with hydroxyl terminals derived from tris(hydroxymethyl)aminomethane (tris) in order to bind Al 3+ , Fe 3+ , and UO 2 2+ ions separately and also study the possibility of using these dendrimers for separating iron from aluminum due to their higher affinity toward Fe 3+ and the lack of reports about using dendrimers for separating Fe from Al.…”
