SBA-16-supported TiO 2 photocatalysts was synthesized by internal hydrolysis method. The synthesized samples were characterized in detail by X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectra, N 2 adsorption-desorption, transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV-Visible absorption spectra and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). The results indicated that SBA-16 retained the 3D cagedlike mesostructure while TiO 2 located almost inside the mesoporous channels in form of small crystals with anatase structure. The photodecomposition of Rhodamine B (RhB) in aqueous medium was selected to evaluate the photocatalysis performance of TiO 2 /SBA-16. The influences of different TiO 2 loading were studied. The results indicated that TiO 2 /SBA-16 synthesized by IH method showed much higher photodegradation ability towards RhB than pure TiO 2 and TiO 2 /SBA-15.
