Synthesis of nanomedicine hydrogel microcapsules by droplet microfluidic process and their pH and temperature dependent release

Abstract: A kind of pH and temperature dependent interpenetrating hydrogel was designed and synthesized via crosslinking of alginate and polyethylene-glycol grafting chitosan by genipin for encapsulated nanomedicine with controlled release.

“…In recent studies, nanotechnology has been coupled with it and used to exert its effect. [22][23][24] Ginsenoside Rk1 is a rare ginsenoside monomer transformed from Ginsenoside Rg3, 25 and shows great potential efficacy against different types of cancer, including breast cancer, lung cancer and HCC. 26,27 In the present study, we investigated for the first time whether ginsenoside Rk1 could exert good anti-cancer effects in HCC by regulating glutamine metabolism.…”

“…For instance, Liu et al introduced hydrogel microcapsules, fabricated from natural polymer composites using microfluidics to produce nanomedicine. The microcapsules were capable of sustained release dependent on surrounding pH and temperature, suitable for oral administration [ 19 ]. One group of biomaterials widely investigated for drug delivery applications are natural polymers, including chitosan [ 20 ], hyaluronic acid [ 21 ], collagen [ 22 ] and alginate [ 23 ].…”
