Synthesis of new Bismuth (III) compound and adducts of benzothiazol disulfide derivatives and their complexes with Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II)

Abstract: Bismuth metal react with dibenzothiazole disulfide (C 7 H 4 NS 2 ) 2 in refluxing toluene to give the compound Bi(S 2 C 7 H 4 N) 3 through oxidative addition reaction, similary, a mixture of bismuth, (C 7 H 4 NS 2 ) 2 and iodine in 1:1:0.5 molar ratio in refluxing toluene lead to the formation of Bi(S 2 C 7 H 4 N) 2 I. Adducts of new bismuth compounds with triphenylphosphine and 1,10-phenanthroline have been synthesized by direct reaction between the bismuth compounds and the neutral ligand. Trinuclear complex… Show more

“…In view of these interesting results and as a continuation of our studies on transition and non-transition metal complexes with sulfur containing ligands [10][11][12] , we have prepared the indium compound In(C 4 H 8 NCS 2 ) 3 and the trinuclear complexes of general formula [ln (C 4 H 8 NCS 2 ) (MCl 2 ) 2 ] M=Co(II),Ni(II),Cu(II), Sn(II),as well as their adducts by their reaction with the neutral ligand (bipyridyl).…”

“…The electronic spectra of Sn(II) complexes (10,11) showed bands at 37878 cm -1 and 34013 cm -1 respectively, these bands were assigned to the transfer transitions. Phsico-chemical data for (10,11) complexes suggest that they based on stoichiometry Sn(II) four and six coordination respectively.…”
