Synthesis of new fluorescent molecules having an aggregation-induced emission property derived from 4-fluoroisoxazoles

Abstract: Fluorescent molecules based on a fluorinated isoxazole scaffold were synthesized and investigated for their photochemical properties. The introduction of a fluorine substituent into 3,5-diarylisoxazoles led to an increase of fluorescence intensity and exhibited a redshift in the emission intensity. α-Fluorinated boron ketoiminates (F-BKIs) were also synthesized via a ring-opening reaction of 4-fluoroisoxazoles and exhibited highly fluorescent luminescence and aggregation-induced emission (AIE), showing promise… Show more

“…In drug delivery, small-sized lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) have potential, but their poor stability and intracellular trafficking weaken their effectiveness. The potential of creating hydrophobic scaffolds can be increased by using transformed, self-assembled LNP containing lipids and proteins that have been previously used for gene or drug delivery [ 173 ]. The choice of scaffold depends on the specific biological application and intended usage, which can range from biotechnology to regenerative medicine for organ regeneration.…”

“…Hence, there is an urgent need to design ultrasensitive strategies to improve detection performance. Various strategies have been employed to solve these problems, including the synthesis of new fluorescent substances, the improvement of instruments for fluorescence detection, and the establishment of an integrated analysis system [ 12 , 13 , 14 ]. Recently, the use of functionalized nanomaterials in fluorescence detection techniques has provided a new opportunity for the selective and ultrasensitive detection and quantification of biomarkers.…”

“…Furthermore, isoxazoles are also found in neuropsychiatric therapy [8] and in crop protection [9]. Surprisingly, their photophysical properties have remained largely unexplored [10][11][12].…”
