Synthesis of novel macrocyclic Schiff's‐base and its complexes having N2O2 group of donor atoms. Characterization and anticancer screening are studied

Abstract: Novel Schiff base [N′,N′″-(((ethane-1,2-diylbis(oxy))bis(2,1-phenylene))bis(methanylylidene))di(benzohydrazide)] was formed by the condensation reaction of benzohydrazide with 2,2′-(ethane-1,2-diylbis(oxy))dibenzaldehyde. Its reaction with various metal ions was studied and the structures of the new products were characterized using common analytical and spectroscopic methods. All the metal complexes have pronounced anticancer activities. The antimicrobial activities against Gram-negative and Gram-positive bac… Show more

“…It also showed three transitions 2 B 1g → 2 B 2g , 2 B 1g → 2 E g and 2 B 1g → 2 A 1g due to the states of octahedral 2 E g and 2 T 2g of metal ion (d 9 ) split. This observation was in agreement the Cu (II) d–d transitions were normally close in energy and the magnetic value of Cu (II) complex was 1.84 BM in the range for octahedral geometry …”

“…The spectrum of Mn (II) complex showed bands at 16,583, 17,421 and 24, 154 cm −1 which refer to 4 T 1g → 6 A 1g , 4 T 2g (G) → 6 A 1g and 4 T 1g (D) → 6 A 1g transitions, respectively . The complex had octahedral geometry, which confirmed by magnetic moment.…”

“…This has led to a variety of applications related to their biological activity. The electron‐donor properties of the Schiff base ligands, functional groups in their structures and their position in the coordination sphere of their chelates were the main factors affecting their reactivates in various studies . It is known that copper complexes show anti‐nuclear activity and also they have an effect against rheumatoid arthritis .…”

“…[19,20] Coordinated that occurs between ligand and transition metal ions yielding many complexes which have been shown to exhibit interesting magnetic susceptibility and luminescence spectra. [21] Docking methodology [22,23] aims to predict the experimental binding modes and affinities of small molecules within the binding site of particular receptor targets and is currently used as a standard computational tool in drug design for lead compound optimization and in virtual screening studies to find novel biologically active molecules. The basic tools of a docking methodology include a search algorithm and an energy scoring function for generating and evaluating ligand poses.…”
