Synthesis of Poly(4-vinylpyridine)-Grafted Ordered Mesoporous Silica via Surface-Initiated Reversible Addition-Fragmentation Chain Transfer Polymerization
Abstract:The organic-inorganic hybrid mesoporous silica composite with poly(4-vinylpyridine) (P4VP) grafted on SBA-15 was synthesized via surface-initiated reversible addition-fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization, and characterized by N 2 -physical adsorption, TEM, XRD, ICP, and TGA techniques. The results indicate that P4VP-g-SBA-15 has improved properties when compared to the pure P4VP polymer and P4VP supported on SBA-15 via in situ free radical polymerization. This study would reveal great potential f… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
