Synthesis of Poly(binaphthol) via Controlled Oxidative Coupling

Abstract: Summary Dinuclear metal complexe is one of the best candidates as a catalyst of the oxidative coupling with high stereo-, regio-, and activity controls, because two redox sites are fixed to simultaneously activate two phenolic substrates and smoothly promote a homolytic coupling. In this chapter, the controlled oxidative coupling of 2-naphthols and polymerizations with various dinuclear-type copper and oxovanadium complexes are reviewed.
