Abstract:Summary Dinuclear metal complexe is one of the best candidates as a catalyst of the oxidative coupling with high stereo-, regio-, and activity controls, because two redox sites are fixed to simultaneously activate two phenolic substrates and smoothly promote a homolytic coupling. In this chapter, the controlled oxidative coupling of 2-naphthols and polymerizations with various dinuclear-type copper and oxovanadium complexes are reviewed.

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
