Synthesis of Polyvinylcarbazole/Reduced Graphite Oxide‐ZnO Nanocomposites

Abstract: In this work, the efficiency of in situ polymerization for the production of polyvinylcarbazole nanocomposites with reduced graphite oxide‐zinc oxide hybrid nanoparticles is evaluated. The ZnO nanoparticles are previously synthesized by the sol‐gel method. The cationic polymerization of polyvinylcarbazole is successfully performed in the presence of the nanoparticles using boron trifluoride as initiator and dichloromethane as solvent at 0 °C. The incorporation of the nanoparticles into the polymer can be obser… Show more

“…42 Similar results were obtained by preparing conductive nanocomposite but using reduced GO (rGO) instead of the normal GO. 43,44 Advincula et al has reported the preparation of PVK-CNTs nanocomposites dispersions that showed good stability for an extended time period (months) without any precipitation of CNTs, suggesting PVK is a suitable matrix for conductive nanocomposites. 37 Another interesting polymer that has been used for the dispersion of GF is PVI.…”
