Abstract:Pyrrolidones and caprolactams are important molecules, serving functions ranging from their use as solvents and surfactants to their occurrence in natural products and drugs. This chapter is devoted to the synthesis of pyrrolidones and caprolactams by intramolecular ring‐forming reactions.
