Synthesis of ¹⁴C‐labelled 1‐(4‐chlorobenzyl)‐3‐methyl‐3‐(2‐hydroxyethyl)‐thiourea

Abstract

1-( 4-Chlorobenzyl) -3-me thyl-3-( 2-hydroxye thyl) --thiourea labelled with l4C at its urea group was synthesised starting from potassium cyanide-14C, via potassium thiocyanate-14C, 4-chlorobenzyl-thiocya na t e-14C and 4-c h lo ro benzy 1-is0 t h ioc yana t e-l4C.The conditions of the isomerisation o f 4-chlorobenzyl-thiocyanate-14C to 4-chlorobenzyl-isothiocyanate-14C were studied in detail.
