“…On the other hand, the frequency of fungal poisons has progressively increased from the last 20 years and presents a risky threat to people health, specifically in immunocompromised humans, like those experiencing organ exchanges or antitumor chemotherapy and acquired immunodeficiency syndrome patients . In current years, the investigation has been dedicated on the enlargement of innovative antimicrobial stuffs, those can act over structure design and novel targets, overcoming the difficult of antibiotic resistance …”

“…1,2,4-Triazole derivatives (7)(8)(9)(10)(11)(12) were prepared in twostep synthesis. In the first step of synthesis, 3-hydroxy-2-naphthoic hydrazide was subjected to condensation reaction with appropriate isothiocyanates to afford 1,4-disubstituted thiosemicarbazide derivatives (1)(2)(3)(4)(5)(6). Then new 1,2,4-triazole-3-thiones (7)(8)(9)(10)(11)(12) were synthesized by the cyclization reaction of corresponding thiosemicarbazide (1-6) derivatives in alkaline media.…”

“…It is known that thiosemicarbazides act as antibacterial [3][4][5], antifungal [6,7], antitubercular [8], anticonvulsant [9,10] and antitumor agents [11,12]. In turn, the 1,2,4-triazoles display a broad range of biological activities, such as antibacterial [13][14][15][16][17][18][19], antifungal [20][21][22], antitubercular [23][24][25][26], antiviral [27] and antiproliferative properties [28][29][30].…”

“…Although there are different antifungal drugs used in the treatment of fungal infections, some of them have undesirable side effects because of the biochemical similarity between human cell and fungi forms. The search for new and effective antimicrobial agents, resistant to the mechanisms of defense of these bacteria, is of paramount importance [1, 2]. Imidazoles and their fused derivatives are keys in many bioactive compounds of both natural and synthetic origins [7] such as histidine, purines, biotin and hydantoin.…”
