Synthesis of ZnO Crystals with Octahedral Morphology through Thermal Evaporation Technique in Air

Abstract: ZnO crystals with octahedral morphology were synthesized in large quantity using a simple thermal evaporation of ZnF 2 powder in air. No catalysts and impurities were not used in the synthetic process. Scanning electron microscopy image showed that the synthesized ZnO crystals were of well-defined octahedral shape with smooth surfaces.
