Synthesis of ZnO nanoparticles through a simple wet chemical precipitation method

Abstract: The research on Zinc oxide nanoparticles has become very important on these days due to its unique property and wide range of applications in all the branches of science. In this study, we synthesized ZnO nanoparticles through a simple and cost-effective wet chemical precipitation approach. The XRD spectra revealed the hexagonal wurtzite structure in the prepared ZnO nanoparticles. The UV-Vis absorption peak of the as - prepared ZnO sample was identified at 301.2 nm and was observed to be blue shifted in compa… Show more

“…For this, several metal oxide semiconductor (MOS) nanomaterials such as ZnO, SnO 2 , NiO, and TiO 2 have been studied [12][13][14][15]. The sensing materials have been realized using different chemical methods, such as hydrothermal [16], wet chemical route [17] and solvothermal [18]. Among them, the solvothermal technique offers the advantage of being eco-friendly and accordingly, is commercially exploited for the synthesis of well-defined nano-morphologies [19].…”

“…17 The chemical solution process is one of the popular methods of synthesizing ZnO NPs, as in it, a simple precipitation method is used and requires simple chemicals. [17][18][19][20][21] In this process, the size, shapes, and purity are easily controllable by tuning fewer parameters. Mostly zinc salt precursors, the pH of the reaction mixture, and calcination temperature play a vital role in the properties of ZnO NPs.…”

“…The need to synthesise low-dimensional structures with certain characteristics has led to the development of a wide variety of methods for the synthesis of zinc oxide [12,13]. ZnO nanoparticles can be produced on a large scale by simple synthesis methods such as chemical precipitation [14], sol-gel method [15], solvothermal/hydrothermal synthesis methods [16,17] and others.…”
