“…59 The stretching vibrations of the NN and N−H groups were observed as an intense sharp absorption near 1650 cm −1 , which suggests that a portion of the nitrile groups were converted into tetrazole groups. 60 Small new bands associated with the tetrazole ring appearing near 1550 cm −1 are characteristic of CN stretching, 61 while bending vibrations at 950 cm −1 are characteristic of the tetrazole ring. Furthermore, the absorption band at 950 cm Usually, nitrile-containing polymers, such as PIM-1, have high thermal stability, which is likely due to strong dipolar interactions.…”

“…The network formation due to the NITEC reaction between poly(MA‐Tet) and fullerene was monitored by FTIR following the tetrazole bands (Figure ). As expected, a decrease in intensity of the bands corresponding to the stretching vibration (CN) of the tetrazole ring at 1540, 1215, and 995 cm −1 was observed indicating the opening of tetrazole ring by light irradiation . The quantity of activated tetrazole was calculated by comparing the integration of the band at 995 cm −1 in poly(MA‐Tet) and the networks (Figure S5, Supporting Information).…”

“…The PAN exhibits a weaker absorption at λ max of 318 and 288, whereas the PVT exhibits much stronger absorption at around 286 nm, indicating the presence of n-p * absorption due to the tetrazole rings (32). The UV-Vis spectra also provided the evidence of PVT formation.…”
