Abstract:A novel mononuclear ruthenium(II) N^N complex of the type [Ru(bpy) 2 (N^N)](PF 6) 2 where bpy = 2,2'-bipyridine and N^N = N-(2pyridylmethylene)-2-anthramine) has been synthesized and characterized. Its electronic absorption, luminescence and electrochemical properties were investigated and discussed in details.
