“…The larger-sized pseudohalide, dicyanamide (dca), is a versatile [21][22][23][24] bridging unit and may bind metal ion through terminal or bridges such as l 1,1, l 1,3, l 1,5 , l 1,1,5, l 1,3,5 , l 3,3,5 and l 1,3,3,5 motifs. Recently, we are active [25][26][27][28] to isolate cadmium(II) compounds of varied molecular and crystalline architectures and with interesting molecular properties using multidentate N-donor organic di-Schiff bases and polyamines. In our present endeavor, we have taken a tetradentate di-Schiff base N,N 0 -(bis(pyridin-2-yl)benzylidene)-1,3-propanediamine (L) (Scheme 1) to synthesize cadmium(II) compounds of different geometries and molecular properties in combination with bridging units like chloride and dicyanamide.…”
