Synthesis, structure, and luminescent properties of a family of lanthanide-functionalized peroxoniobiophosphates

Abstract: Eight new lanthanide derivatives containing 6-peroxoniobio-4-phosphate building block, [LnIII(H2O)6]2[H4(NbO2)6P4O24]·nH2O [Ln = Eu (1), Gd (2), Tb (3), Dy (4), Ho (5), Er (6), Tm (7), Yb (8), 1–5, 7, 8 n = 12; 6 n = 9], have been successfully obtained using an in-situ strategy and fully characterized in the solid state by single-crystal X-ray diffraction, IR spectra, TG-MS, PXRD. Structural analyses indicate that these isostructural polyanions 1–8 consist of one [P4(NbO2)6O24]10− (P 4 (NbO 2 ) 6) clusters and… Show more

“…Currently, active hybrid structures are proposed, in which crystalline phases are introduced within the amorphous matrix using various methods, including thermal treatment [1], direct doping [2], chemical vapor deposition (CVD) [3], and 3D printing [4]. All of these methods require glasses with modified structural properties, ensuring the conditions for obtaining new luminescent properties (from embedded active structures) while maintaining the stability of the hybrid system [5][6][7].…”

“…Interestingly, {Ta 6 O 19 } ion can dissolve in aqueous H 2 O 2 . We speculate that Lindqvist-type [Ta 6 O 19 ] 8– in an aqueous solution of H 2 O 2 would exist as a stable complex, a peroxo ion, and the complex might decompose on the complete addition of H 3 PO 4 solution, resulting in P 4 Nb 6 or P 4 Ta 6 aggregation. ,, In this paper, we focus our studies on hydrogen peroxide realizing the coexistence of [Ta 6 O 19 ] 8– and Ln 3+ ions in the same system. Meanwhile, the addition of a heteroanion realizes an increase in the structural diversity and functionality of the polyoxoanions.…”
