Synthesis, Structure and Photoluminescent Property of a Cadmium Complex With 2,4-Dichlorophenoxyacetic Acid

Abstract: A new complex [Cd(2,4-D) 2 (Im) 2 (H 2 O) 2 ] with 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4-DH) and imidazole (Im) as ligands has been synthesized and characterized by elemental analysis, IR spectrometry and single-crystal X-ray diffraction. The Cd(II) atom is coordinated in a distorted octahedral geometry, which is defined by two O atoms from two monodentate 2,4-dichlorophenoxyacetate ligands, two N atoms from two imidazole ligands and two water molecules.
