Synthesis, Structure and Topology of Copper(I) Tetrazolate Framework: Facile Approach to Design Multiple Dye Adsorbent with Carbon Composites

Abstract: The development of porous tetrazolate metal‐organic frameworks (MOFs) and their carbon composites for the efficient adsorption of organic dyes is a highly exciting field for material developments as well as waste water treatment. Herein, we have introduced a copper tetrazole‐based metal organic framework, {(Cu(C2N4H3); CUT1}, synthesized via in‐situ ligand synthesis followed by [2+3] cycloaddition strategy. A set of activated carbon (AC) composites namely as CUT1@1 %AC‐Black and CUT1@5 %AC‐Black have also been… Show more

“…The crystal structures were solved by applying a direct method and refined via full matrix least-squares operating SHELXL present in the WinGx suit programs (Version 1.63.04a) . All the hydrogens bonded with pyrazine and diphosphonate ligands were put right to their calculated position, and the riding model was used for their refinement . One can observe the B-level alert in both compounds ( I and II ) that can be due to the highly disordered solvent molecules present in the structures. The detailed summary of crystallographic information on compounds I and II is provided in Table S1.…”

“…Tetrazoles are an important class of five‐membered tetranitrogenated heterocycles whose scaffold can be found in different molecules for several applications, such as polymeric materials [1], organic dyes [2], electronic devices [3], pharmaceuticals [4], etc. Their biological activity is of great relevance, as they exhibit antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, anti‐inflammatory, anticancer, insecticidal activities, among others [5].…”

“…[19] Mahata et al (2006) were the leading researchers to have investigated the efficiency of MOFs as photocatalysts for removing organic pollutant from water. [20] The modified MOF materials also exhibited efficient photocatalytic activity with unique features in degrading organic pollutants under UV/ visible/UV-visible irradiations, [21][22][23] in comparison to other inorganic semiconductor photocatalysts such as TiO 2 , ZnO. [24] The applicability of MOFs remains limited due to their relatively large band gap.…”
