Synthetic Aperture Radar Active Decoy

Abstract: Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) has been widely involved in military reconnaissance and detection of moving targets. SAR active decoy can generate deceptive jamming signal and it can severely affect the content of SAR focused image. SAR range Doppler algorithm (RDA) is considered as one of the most common algorithms utilized in the image formation processor (IFP) in SAR sensors. In this paper, the inverse RDA (IRDA) deception jamming technique and its evaluation criteria on SAR are demonstrated. Mathematical fo… Show more

“…In order to implement the active decoy on Xilinx AKC705 Kintex-7 FPGA board, it is required to use SystemVue as a test platform. Thus, a group of simulation and emulation tests are done as follows: firstly, a simulation to confirm that the same SAR output results are achieved if the predesigned Matlab SAR model in [6] replaces the built-in SystemVue SAR model; secondly, a simulation of the deceptive jamming against modified SystemVue SAR model (with Matlab based approach) to ensure that the same SAR output results, under deception jamming signal, are achieved; finally, an emulation of the proposed active decoy against SAR using Xilinx AKC705 Kintex-7 FPGA board. The results are demonstrated in different types of Matlab figures and graphs.…”
