Abstract:Drug resistance in cancer is a significant contributor to high mortality, and it exists in the complex form of a multi-parameter. Here, we unravel the roles of tumor heterogeneity, intratumoral physiological barriers, and safe havens in the onset and progression of cancer drug resistance, and outline strategies for resolution. We advocate for a “three-step approach” to reverse cancer drug resistance, including the management of cancer evolution and early intervention, the normalization of intratumoral physiolo… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
