Származási régiók növényföldrajzi felülvizsgálata honos fajok magjainak restaurációs célú felhasználására

Abstract: Due to the loss of biodiversity, the concept of ecological restoration has reached the highest political levels. The use of native seeds has to be increased in order to scale up restoration. The use of locally adapted seeds is suggested, and is regulated at EU level. However, in Hungary, "local" is defined based on administrative units. In the present research, we apply multiple potential natural vegetation model and combine it with floristic, vegetation and landscape maps for the delineation of seed transfer … Show more

“…The former can be omitted to reduce construction costs, and the need for irrigation can be reduced by eco‐friendly solutions, like restoring native drought‐tolerant vegetation (Vahmani & Ban‐Weiss, 2016). In the case of the eco area, the high implementation costs were due to the higher prices of native plant material compared to commercially available species and the costs of hay transfer, a constraint in ecological restoration, especially in the lack of a seed market (Cevallos et al., 2020; Török et al., 2020). One of the most important conditions for the success of the restoration is the use of climate‐adaptive seed sources (Török et al., 2021).…”
