“…Beyond the fundamental interest in SMMs, some key systems have been used as components in prototype molecular spintronic devices, such as spin valves and spin transistors. 4,5 Two parameters often used to quantify SMM performance are the effective energy barrier to reversal of the magnetization (U eff ) and the magnetic blocking temperature (T B ), which can be defined as the highest temperature at which magnetic hysteresis occurs. 6 Whilst SMMs with large U eff values are not uncommon, examples with blocking temperatures above the liquid-helium regime are rare.…”

“…[66][67][68][69] Thus, examples of pure heterometallic Ln complexes remain rare. These are almost solely limited to phthalocyanine [70][71][72][73] and DOTA complexes. [74][75][76] An elegant strategy relying on size selection of dissymmetric ligands has been employed to synthesise heteronuclear Ln complexes without scrambling.…”

“…The latter may allow the development of nanoscale devices with improved performance or new functionalities. Porphyrin derivatives, which have already been investigated for molecular electronic devices due to their peculiar electronic and optical properties, have been recently proposed as a class of molecules that is particularly promising as a building block for spintronic technology [3,4]. One-dimensional chromium porphyrin arrays showing half-metallic behavior [5], manganese porphyrin molecules connected with a p-phenylene-ethynylene group [6], and porphyrin/graphene hybrid materials [7] have been reported so far.…”
