Abstract:For more efficient energy distribution system, we need a high efficiency material for charge transport. In present work we combined continuum mechanics methods for studying the effect of strain on CNT, and the change in electrical parameters as a result of CNT deformation using first principal method. We found that on applying stress on SWCNT’s, the bond lengths increase near the point of applied force from 1.42 to 1.88Å (just below the applied force and on opposite face it changes from 1.42 to 2.24 Å), and at… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
