Tailoring of the electrochemical stability and dielectric behaviour of inorganic matrix-based ionogels

Abstract: Silicon dioxide (SiO2), lithium salt (lithium perchlorate, LiClO4), ionic liquid (IL; 1-Ethyl-3-methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethylsulfonyl)imide, [EMIMTFSI]), and succinonitrile (SCN)- based ionogels (IGs) are synthesized using cost-effective non-hydrolytic sol-gel (NHSG) method. The electrochemical stability and electrical properties are associated with their molecular structures. The electrochemical stability of the IGs (I1, I2, and I3) was studied using the highest occupied molecular orbital (HOMO) &… Show more

“…In terms of the inorganic matrix, most current studies focus on SiO 2 , TiO 2 , ZrO 2 , Al 2 O 3 , etc., while there are relatively few reports about other inorganic materials. [227] As to polymer matrix, PIL is suitable for ionogel matrix due to its good machinability and excellent performance of ILs. Moreover, MOFs have also attracted much attention recently because of their excellent insulation and porosity, which can be used as host materials for gel electrolytes, providing new approaches for developing ionogel electrolytes.…”
