Its main application is in cemented carbide as its addition improves the high‐temperature fatigue strength, thermal shock resistance, hot hardness and resistance against cratering and oxidation (Andersson et al ., ; Tulhoff, ). TaC is a potential candidate for ultra‐high temperature applications such as leading edges and nose caps for hypersonic vehicles, rocket thrusters, combustor linings, etc., because of its high melting point.…”
