Taxonomic updates and a new variety of Cosmarium redimitum from South America

Abstract: Here we provide an updated distribution and taxonomic notes on Cosmarium redimitum, an endemic species from South America. In addition, a new variety is proposed and the zygospore of that species is described for the first time, based on material from Bahia, northeastern Brazil.
