Abstract: GM2 gangliosidosis is lysosomal storage disorder caused by deficiency of the heterodimeric enzyme β-hexosaminidase A. Tay-Sachs disease is caused by variants inHEXAencoding the α-subunit and Sandhoff disease is caused by variants inHEXBencoding the β-subunit.
