Abstract:Piperacillin-Tazobactam is a β-lactam/β-lactamase inhibitor combination which is amongst the most prescribed antimicrobials in hospital medicine. Piperacillin is inactivated by commonly carried resistance enzymes, but tazobactam inhibits these allowing successful treatment.
