TD-UAPO diffracted field evaluation for penetrable wedges with acute apex angle

Abstract: This study deals with the time domain (TD) diffraction phenomenon related to a penetrable acute-angled dielectric wedge. The transient diffracted field originated by an arbitrary function plane wave is evaluated via a convolution integral involving the TD diffraction coefficients, which are determined here in closed form, starting from the knowledge of the frequency domain counterparts. In particular, the inverse Laplace transform is applied to the uniform Asymptotic physical optics diffraction coefficients va… Show more

“…An FR4 printed circuit board (PCB) with an overall size of 110.00 mm × 85.00 mm × 1.75 mmnmm×85.00mm×1.75m, which contains a signal processing circuit and DSP, is fixed on the back of the ground plane of the antenna, sandwiching a foam layer with a thickness of 8 mm. The diffraction effect to the PCB from radiating elements can be overlooked [23,24]. The circuit is powered by a 12 V DC source.…”

“…Moreover, the overall module design with a 2:1 parallelism ratio between the lower level and the above level always works. It is a fact that is preferable to analyze the scattering problems of the TD framework rather than in the frequency domain (FD) [21]. Hence, the proposed architecture has strong application value.…”

“…In the case of structures with multiple surfaces interacting with the electromagnetic field, one of the advantages of the UAPO approach is to exploit the linearity of the scattering integral to attain the diffracted field as a linear combination of contributions associated to the edges of the involved surfaces [11][12][13][14][15][16]. The authors have recently exploited this feature to solve the problem tackled here and to obtain useful expressions and numerical preliminary results in [17], where the ability of the UAPO diffracted field to compensate the jump of the geometrical optics (GO) field at the reflection and transmission shadow boundaries has been demonstrated.…”
