Teaching and Learning Modelling and Specification Based on Mobile Devices and Cloud

Abstract: Teaching Requirements Engineering and, in particular modelling and specification requirements, at the higher education institutions is an “arduous” task according to the literature. In this way, it is proposed an approach that aims to contribute for filling this gap. So, in the context of a degree in Informatics, and following the guidelines of the Information Systems courses provided by ACM/AIS, we explore the Modeling and Specification (MS) of requirements using Unified Modelling Language (UML) integrated in… Show more

“…Educational institutions have shown great interest in incorporating mobile learning (m_learning) into their TLP (Moreira and Ferreira, 2017;Moreira et al, 2016;Delialioglu and Alioon, 2016). However, there must be increased concern on the part of decisionmakers in the adoption of technology in the TLP, because it is not enough to apply and use the technology alone, but to develop methodologies that allow the proper integration of these technologies.…”

“…In addition to the above, the rational of the proposed approach used the model proposed in [74] that highlights the need to define the students profile and their prior knowledge, something basic for educational improvement [75], in order to help to select the right tools and the design and development of teaching materials. The approach consists of five different components with a defined sequence (Fig.…”

“…Moreira, et al [2] present a study on m_learning in which are summarized the definitions of m_learning presented in the literature. The latter definition dates from 2017 and extends the scope of other definitions by considering m_learning as "the learning strategy that provides students with the 21st century learning capabilities in order to enable them to use the wide range of the portable computing devices" [7].…”

“…Following this line of reasoning, from the organizations point of view, DT can be seen as a deep and accelerating transformation with regard to processes, activities, competences and models, in order to take advantage of the changes and opportunities offered by the inclusion of digital technologies into an organization. On the other hand, Uhl and Gollenia [4] enrich the DT concept, arguing that the adoption of technology-based change is focused on four technology enablers: (1) cloud computing, (2) mobile, (3) social, and (4) big data -analytics.…”
