The article examines the phonetic articulation of Russian noise consonants produced by Chinese-speaking students learning Russian as a foreign language. The study identifies both general and specific problems encountered by these students in pronouncing Russian noise consonants and suggests effective methods of correction. By analysing the phonetic differences between Mandarin Chinese and Russian, the study highlights specific articulation problems and suggests targeted pedagogical strategies for improving pronunciation accuracy. Four groups of noise consonants are identified according to the comparative analysis of Russian and Chinese phonetic systems. Correspondingly, four types of exercises and tasks to correct errors in Russian noise consonants are designed and presented in the study. Finally, the paper underlines the necessity to systematize teaching materials and to encourage independent work of Chinese students including pronunciation practice based on learning by heart Russian tongue-twisters.
