Combinations of different instructional modalities such as television shows, slide-tape shows, self-teaching programs and personal chair-side instruction have given successful results (Gjermo 1972, Vande Vorde 1972, Radentz et al 1975, Glavind et al 1985, although Shiller & Dittmer (1968) failed to observe that the effect of oral hygiene instruction was improved by showing a movie designed to motivate for proper oral home care.…”
