Abstract:This article describes the influence of Professor David A. Shirley on the research science of one of his Ph.D. students in the diverse areas of surface magnetism, x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), spin-resolved XPS (SRXPS), extreme ultraviolet (EUV) lithography, and hydrogen storage materials science.
