Techno-economic Assessment of Coal to SNG Power Plant in Kalimantan

Abstract: As the most abundant and widely distributed fossil fuel, coal has become a key component of energy sources in worldwide. However, air pollutants from coal power plants contribute carbon dioxide emissions. Therefore, understanding how to taking care coal in industrial point of view is important. This paper focused on the feasibility study, including process design and simulation, of a coal to SNG power plant in Kalimantan in order to fulfill its electricity demand. In 2019, it is estimated that Kalimantan will … Show more

“…Typical process simulation applications for improving design and solving operational challenges have been reported elsewhere (Putra, 2016a;Putra, 2016b). Development of simulation models have also been applied in different processes (Andika & Valentina, 2016;Bhullar & Putra, 2017;Nayaggy & Putra, 2019).…”

“…Although there are many reports confirmed the prospective methods for producing ZnO nanoparticles, there is almost no report on the analysis for the feasibility study in the large scale production. In fact, this information is important for giving better prospective for industrial practitioners to apply the method in realistic application [10][11][12][13][14].…”

“…The energy transition does not only cover the technological aspects, but also combination of economic, socio-cultural, political, and institutional aspects (Child et al, 2018). Therefore, this energy transition should be guided by acceptable agreements and standards toward sustainability and resiliency (Andika and Valentina, 2016).…”
