“…One of current practical solution is to use glass-ceramic materials based on lithium-silicate glasses. This type of material has high visible-range light transmission (72%), high mechanical properties -Vickers hardness HV=8.74 GPa, crack resistance K1C=3.10 MPa×m 1/2 , Young's modulus E=307 GPa and low density ρ=2380 kg/m 3 [2]. It is justification for using it as a base in the production of high-strength materials for protecting optical devices from the effects of high-speed machining.…”
