Technological intelligence for circular supply chain: a co-citation analysis approach

Abstract: Purpose The COVID-19 pandemic has disrupted the supply chains, and this brought researchers and practitioners to think about more on circular supply chains (CSC). The CSC concept has been discussed in the literature more than a decade. This study aims to find out the theoretical roots of CSC by analyzing scholarly articles in literature. Design/methodology/approach This paper uses document cocitation analysis for reaching this aim. After retrieving data from Web of Science database, this paper explores data … Show more

“…This protective dimension of resilience depends on the resources, notably financial, of the organizations concerned, their learning capacities (Mithani et al, 2021), and their ability to create links and proximity with their community (Billiet et al, 2021). In the first phase of the crisis, there has been a strong focus, in strategy journals, on the importance of protective resilience for supply and value chains to avoid market collapse (Begum et al, 2022; Kirbac et al, 2022). This need for protective resilience has been especially highlighted for entrepreneurial and small business activities (Dimitriadis, 2021) and studies show the lack of protection and of social capital that this type of organization has to face.…”

“…Quality can be defined as the degree of unique characteristics of a product or service that meets customer needs (Astanti et al ., 2022). One of the crucial goals of SCs is to produce high-quality products at a low cost (Kirbac et al ., 2022; Hwihanus et al ., 2022). Recently, besides the low price, it has become important for the products to be environmentally friendly and to contribute to the circular economy (Gebhardt et al ., 2022).…”

“…Especially the climate changes accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic (Pimenta et al ., 2022) and the fact that natural resources are not unlimited have also revealed the necessity of considering the circular economy (Akhmetzyanov and Egizbaev, 2022). For this reason, to increase the resilience of the SCs and improve their performance (Kirbac et al ., 2022), it has become extremely important to determine the product status of the returned products at the procurement stage and to apply principles of circular economy, those at the operational level among the 9R' of the circular economy, for their needs (Hazen et al ., 2020; Gebhardt et al ., 2022).…”
