Technology Education and Economic Competitiveness in Developing Countries: The Sri Lankan Experience

Abstract: This paper examines the status of technology education in developing countries generally, and Sri Lanka in particular. A review of current literature reveals that science and technology are critically important for every country's socio-economic development. The conceptual framework and major features of technology education that should be emphasised in developing countries are discussed.
