Technology-Enhanced Learning: An Optimal CPS Learning Application

Abstract: Collaborative problem-solving (CPS) is highly valued in the sustainability of learning to foster the key soft power of talent for the future. In this study, a CPS learning application was built to train and assess individuals with the aim of increasing CPS skills. For effective learning to take place, several issues need to be carefully considered, and these were investigated while testing the proposed application. This study examined the impact of collaborative interactions (CIs) (human–computer agent (HCA) a… Show more

“…Adaptive and intelligent technologies, though not entirely new [111][112][113], have only recently become an (increasingly-) important part of debates concerning enhancing education in challenged environments (see for example [114]). Currently, though, such educational technologies range from simple innovations such as Cybersmart Africa's use of PVC pipes, nylon sheets and Nintendo Wii remote controls to create interactive whiteboards in Senegalese schools [115], to complex ones combining various modern technologies to produce advanced educational software (see for example cases from Morocco [116] and Taiwan [117]).…”

“…Many of these digital practices revolve around popular youth culture, and take the form of affiliations in online communities such as Facebook, expressions such as creating videos, multimodal and transmedial forms of writing, collaborative problem-solving to complete tasks-including certain collaborative video games-or developing new shared knowledge, such as Wikipedia, as well as the dissemination of content in a blog, etc. [7][8][9][10][11][12].…”

“…Chien et al [43] attempted to discover the impacts of Collaborative Interactions (CIs) and Human-Computer Agent (HCA) and Human-Human (HH) interactions on the Collaborative Problem-Solving (CPS) performance of students. Lytras et al [44] proposed the idea of transformative education based on the concept of total quality management in human resources.…”
