The use of technology in daily life involves most people worldwide because technology can save time and effort. Technology in education is also critical to facilitating teaching and learning activities. Authentic material delivered with technology in learning can motivate students, one of which is language learning. The foreign language subject studied by junior high school students is English. This study aims to determine the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in teaching English (ELT), the media and applications used in teaching English, and the challenges of using information and communication technology. The research method used in this research is a qualitative approach. Data collection techniques in this study were interviews and questionnaires. The study results are based on consultations that most English teachers use ICT in ELT using a laptop, LCD, projectors, and internet media according to the required standards. Furthermore, the teacher also stated that all teachers had used media or applications to help them deliver learning materials to students so that students could more easily understand them. The teachers noted that these media and applications were instrumental in learning, where the press or applications immensely helped both teachers and students. The obstacle that causes not carrying out ICT-based education is that students cannot use cell phones for English learning media during offline learning at school because school regulations prohibit students from holding cell phones at school because, in reality, they open more to other things such as social media. Compared to the English material recommended by the teacher.

Numerous scholarly investigations have been conducted on students' perceptions of integrating information and communication technology (ICT) in English language teaching (ELT). However, existing research lacks specific exploration of students' perceptions regarding web-based and non-web-based ICT in vocational high schools across perspectives of understanding, ease of learning, and learning challenges. Therefore, this study aims to investigate students' perceptions of ICT integration in ELT, specifically examining web-based and non-web-based ICT across perspectives of understanding, ease of learning, and learning challenges. The research method used was a case study. The research involved six students of the two departments (Engineering and Management) at a vocational high school in Malang, Indonesia, as the participants. Data were collected through interviews and analyzed thematically. Results indicate that, based on perspectives of understanding and ease of learning, students exhibit positive attitudes towards integrating ICT, particularly web-based tools like Canva, Quizizz, and Wordwall, alongside non-web-based tools such as LCD and tablet, citing enhanced learning processes. Conversely, in the perspective of learning challenges, challenges like poor internet connectivity for web-based ICT and operational issues for non-web-based tools persist. This study emphasizes the importance of a balanced approach to ICT integration to meet diverse learning needs.

The Effect of GeoGebra Software in Calculus for Mathematics Teacher Students

The objectives of these mixed methods were to 1) improve students’ performance in calculus by using GeoGebra software and 2) investigate students’ experiences with and perspectives on using GeoGebra software in calculus. The participants were 58 mathematics teacher students at a university in Thailand. The instruments in this study were a test; this was called the Calculus Achievement Test (CAT), which consists of limits and continuity; a derivative of function; and its application; and a questionnaire with an interview with a student. The statistics for qualitative data were gathered from instruction; we used percentages, mean scores, standard deviations, and a one-sample t-test; while quantitative data was gathered from students’ reflections and interviews. The results showed: 1) the results of the one-sample t-test show that using GeoGebra Software in Calculus is effective in students’ performance; 2) the data, the quantitative findings show that students were more interested and excited during the intervention. Students could better show their creativity and learn about themselves because of the intervention. Teaching calculus with GeoGebra embedded is a good and effective way to do things. The finding shows a good chance of developing technology-integrated math curricula for teaching and learning calculus.
